Real ID?

On May 11, 2005, a law implementing Real ID was signed by the President.  The law was passed by Congress.  It requires the states to implement a bunch of standards in identification that they provide their citizens.  I'm all for Real ID.  The problem is that the states are balking on this.  Tennessee's state government is "carefully evaluating Real ID" which sounds like a phonyism for "we're going to wait until the last second and then say no for some weird reason that really has more to do with us thumbing our nose at DC than anything else."  If this causes us trouble with our current contract in DC or a potential one that we are working on out west, I am going to be upset with our state leaders.  I'm emailing State Senator Tim Burchett regarding this.
